Title:East Asia
The pictures that are in the book that I am reading is like maps of Asia and where there land is. There’s a graph about how many people there is in Asia. They have Asia flying kites in the air fighting as a tradition.
Well ,what I learned about when I was read this book is a little about culture. Culture can be described as the distinctive way of live of a group of people. Did u know that in Hamamatsu, Japan has a traditions of flying kites. I learned that more then one million people gather to watch giant kites fight each other to stay in the air the longest.
My reflection is that I would want to go east Asia because it out in the ocean and It would not feel right there with different kinds of people. The thing that interesting me the most was that they fly kite to fight.
Title: The hand
It was about how a teacher asked her first grade class to draw pictures or write what their thankful for. Also what they really do like about thanksgiving. The teacher was surprised on how much the poor kids had to be thankful for. So the teacher thought that this way she'll know a little bit more about hem.The teacher was amaized on what the kids wanted to do.At recess the teacher looked through the papers shaped as hands and found one that she really liked. On the piece of paper it said.. "thanksgiving, not for the material things given to us but for the chance, in whatever small way, to give to others".After they came in from recess she read the paper to the students.
Our lady of Guadalupe is the most important religious symbol of Mexico and one of the most powerful female icons of Mexican culture.
In each stage of their history, Mexican Americans were confronted with new realities and complex problems. In adjusting to a multitude of circumstances, they have had to adapt and change their customs, values, and beliefs.
The appearance of our lady of Guadalupe was the occasion for the conversation of the indigenous people and was therefore the foundation of Mexican Christianity.
The real turning point to the conversion of the Aztecs to Christianity came with the miraculous appearance of the Indian virgin of Guadalupe in 1531.
Only six years after the apparition of our lady of Guadalupe, nine million Aztec people had been baptized into the Christian faith.
Peoples beliefs say she calls herself Tlecuauhtlacupeuh, to the Spaniards it sounds like Guadalupe.
The Nahualt understanding of “Thecuauhtlacupeuh” is La que viene volando de la luz como el aguila de fuego (she comes flying from the region of light like an eagle of fire.)
How To Survive the Loss of a Love
I this book I read that in love you will do all right alone and better together.some people do very poorly when semitogether.in solitude you do much, in love you do more, but in doubt you only transfer pain to paper in gigantic paper passion plays.in love there is nothing to be done only except it and hurt.i also learned that endings make the circumstances of the beginnings regrettable.if your hurting admit although you may be frightened by it, be with your pain.i think that love is a type of feeling that feels good when you are being loved back by the person you love. but when it comes to loving someone and they dont feel the same way for you it hurts so bad that you feel numb and you feel like your world has ended.
Rome was the center of a great civilization long ago. Laws and government were very important to it’s people. Ancient Romans were also great builders, especially of roads and waterways. Rome was the most important city in the empire. An emperor ruled this vast empire. Under one ruler, many of the people in the empire led comfortable lives. There were few wars. It was a time of peace.
Renaissance and Reformation
In the mid-1300’s new spirit began in the cities of Italy and then spread throughout Europe.
This time is known as the Renaissance.
Renaissance means “rebirth”.
This era produced great achievements in the arts and sciences.
It is also challenged the power of the Church, beginning a movement for religious change known as the Reformation.
One of the greatest artists of the Renaissance was the Florentine painter, sculptor, and architect Michelangelo Buonarroti.
Another famous artist was the hero David from the bible who was a favorite subject of renaissance artists.
Andrea del Verrocchio created a bronze sculpture of David around 1465.
The book that i am reading is called leaving the south. What i read is about that many African Americans wanted to leave the south. And they say that, from 1915 to 1930 thousands and thousands of African Americans moved from the south to the north. the African Americans moved from the south to the north because after the civil war ended in 1865 the thirteen amendment had abolished slavery but for others freedom was only the first step on the long path toward a better life. They left so that they could be able to earn a good living and to own their property.
Reflection
I think that many African Americans should have the right to own their property and have a good living and a good job.And they dont have to be slaves, Ithought slaving days were over.
Paul revere was born in Boston Massachusetts in 1735.
Paul revere was also a patriot.
He was a silversmith.
He was willing to risk his life to fight against England.
By April 1775 Boston was not safe for patriots.
They knew that he had been meeting with other patriots outside of town.
He and his friends came up with a secret code.
Revere asked friends to put lamps in the tower of the old north church.
Today I read about East Asia's volcanoes. Many of the island are peeks of volcanoes. Volcanoes are openings in the earth’s surface. Earths crust is made up of gigantic slabs of moving rock called tectonic plates. Oceans and continents sit on top of these plates. Magma can escape from deep inside earth. When magma pours out of the earth its called lava. While some volcanoes are active others remain dormant or inactive.
I think volcanoes are cool because how they erupt. Also how they pour out lava from the top to the bottom.
The most thing that I found interesting was that the dormant volcanoes can become active again.
lizards
I read that lizards are not very dangerous. But studies show that there are not very dangerous. some lizards might be agressive. So if you get close to a lizard and the mouth is open that means that it is about to bite you. Some lizards are poisonous but some are not.For the ones that are you have to be careful cause if you get bit by one you may die or seriously injured. Thats what i learned about lizards.
Title: The life and death of Adolf Hitler.
The Waldviertel is one of those regions of Austria rarely visited by travelers.
Thickly wooded land lies in the extreme west of Lower Austria between the Danube and the frontiers of bohemia and Moravia.
The Hard-bitten farmers who live in this borderland have their own rough dialect.
Like all borderlands, the Waldviertel was prey to marauding.
Czech blood flows in them, they possess to this day an unyielding hatred for their ancestral enemies.
Genealogists both inside and outside Germany have worked earnestly to provide Adolf Hitler with a family tree.
The family tree begins with Stefan Hiedler, born in walterschlag in 1672.
The middle brother begins with the birth of a certain Alois Schicklgruber during the morning of june 17 1837.
