Becky Marrero’s, whose remains were uncovered last December by teens exploring a steep ravine near the town of Auburn. Today I read about, U.S border patrol agents know smugglers will use the dark to sneak into the country with illegal immigrants and drugs both above and below ground. Under the Arizona border city of Nogales is a network of tunnels some built as part of the city's flood defenses, others built by the smugglers. U.S. Border Patrol agent Michael Camdron says: "We're usually trying to see some sign that someone's been coming through, pushing bundles of marijuana or something like that."

Melchor Marabante lived in Murrieta for about three years until his then-wife and three children moved out of the house when he was caught having an extramarital affair. "It's shocking to me; it's shocking that anyone could do something like that," a neighbor said. While prosecutors build a case of double murder against Marabante, his former neighbor described his personality that dramatically changed in the last several years. "He seemed like a good dad. [He] played with his boys and was outside a lot," said a neighbor.

A round-the-world boating adventure ended tragically Tuesday for four Americans, whom pirates fatally shot after capturing their yacht in the Indian Ocean last week, U.S. officials said. The 58-foot vessel, named the Quest, was being shadowed by the military after pirates took the ship off the coast of Oman on Friday. Officials had said earlier Tuesday it was less than two days from the Somali coast. Ship owners Jean and Scott Adam and Phyllis Macay and Bob Riggle were found shot after U.S. forces boarded the vessel about 1 a.m. ET, officials said. The forces responded after a rocket-propelled grenade was fired at a U.S. Navy ship about 600 yards away -- and missed -- and the sound of gunfire could be heard on board the Quest, U.S. Navy Vice Admiral Mark Fox told reporters. "Despite immediate steps to provide life-saving care, all four hostages ultimately died of their wounds," U.S. Central Command said. The incident took place as negotiations involving the FBI were under way for the hostages' release, Fox said. Two pirates had boarded a U.S. Navy ship Monday for the negotiations, he said. He told reporters he had no information on details of the negotiations or whether a ransom had been offered. Two pirates were found dead on board the Quest, he said. In the process of clearing the vessel, U.S. forces killed two others, one with a knife, Fox said. Thirteen others were captured and detained along with the other two already on board the U.S. Navy ship. Nineteen pirates were involved altogether, he said. The Adams were from Marina del Rey, California, Fox said, and Macay and Riggle were from Seattle. The 15 detained pirates were being held together on a U.S. warship, Fox said, and "we will go through the appropriate process to bring them to a judicial process and hold them accountable for their activities.“ In Washington, the Justice Department issued a brief comment, with department spokesman Dean Boyd saying the United States "is committed to working with our international partners to ensure that the perpectrators of this heinous crime are brought to justice."

There calling San Diego one of the safest large cities in America. Sanders a police man says that police used a variety of methods to prevent crime, including a six month operation that took 47 gang members off the streets. Frequent truancy and curfew sweeps occurred, resulting in a decline in the number of juvenile crime. A preliminary hearing is scheduled Wednesday for a 34-year-old mother accused of being drunk and causing a crash that killed her fiancé and two young women who were standing outside a parked car on state Route 78. Debbie Pacheco Sumi, who was seriously injured in the crash that occurred last Aug. 13, is charged with gross vehicular manslaughter and DUI causing injury. A judge will decide at the end of the preliminary hearing whether there is enough evidence to proceed to trial. I think she should get what she deserves for what she did. Just saying sorry isn't enough to bring back the dead loved ones that she killed when she was drinking and driving.

Leslie Erin Boggs a mother now stands accused of drunkenly falling on the child and smothering her to death . She got wasted, she got drunk, she got high, and she fell asleep and rolled over on her 3- month year old baby . Boggs was in custody on a $500,000 cash bond, two days after being charged with child neglect resulting in death . The medical examiner determined that the baby died of asphyxiation, also noting that part of her head appeared to be pushed in and her face was blue. Investigators said that these findings, including the baby's body temperature when seen by a coroner, didn't seem to jibe with Boggs' account, which suggested sudden infant death syndrome . Plant said Friday that, if convicted on the child neglect resulting in death charge, Boggs would face between three and 15 years behind bars. But he didn't rule out more severe charges, especially if it was determined that the woman willfully and maliciously killed her baby.

A 16-year-old Florida boy faces a first degree murder charge in the shooting death of a police officer in St. Petersburg, Florida. The death of Officer David Crawford represented the third time in less than a month that a law-enforcement officer was killed in the city. Police said they have detained Nicholas L. Lindsey, a student in the Pinellas County school system. He has prior arrests, mostly for property crimes, said St. Petersburg Police Chief Chuck Harmon. The boy may be tried as an adult because of his age and the seriousness of the charge, but the state attorney general will make that decision, a judge told the boy. Police are still trying to recover the gun that the suspect used. "His parents, I will note, have been cooperative throughout this investigation," Harmon said. Officials said three tips led them to the suspect. The teen offered several different accounts of events but after several rounds of interrogation, he admitted information that conformed with evidence that police had already gathered, Harmon said. "It is quite apparent he was remorseful in his action. He cried," he said. Police said they do not think anyone else was involved in the shooting. "You don't expect this type of confrontation between a 16-year-old and a police officer like this," Harmon said. "I feel for the juvenile's family but at the same time he's got to be accountable for his actions.“ The arrest comes after hundreds of police officers scoured neighborhoods in Saint Petersburg for the killer of Crawford, a veteran police officer. The shooting occurred Monday night when Crawford had been summoned to the scene to investigate a suspicious person who was reportedly toting a brick in a resident's backyard, according to police.

Wentworth states that if the students would have been armed, the outcome would of probably been different.

Today I read about how in Washington a Supreme Court majority appeared poised Tuesday to give a woman convicted of trying to poison her best friend a chance to argue that her case should have been handled in state courts. Carol Anne Bond was given a longer prison sentence in the federal system, after being charged with violating an international treaty on the use of chemical weapons. Several justices seemed to agree. The case of toxic love has soap-opera elements, but Bond's lawyers argued she was being treated like an international terrorist, instead of someone caught up in a domestic dispute. Either way, it may come too late to do her any good, if the justices sidestep the 10th Amendment aspects. She is set to be freed from federal prison in West Virginia next year, likely before any future case on the merits would be resolved. A high court ruling will likely be issued by June. The case is Bond v. U.S. (09-1227).

Extrabux is an online search engine that allows shoppers to find the best price on any product, find exclusive coupons for those products and get cash back from more than 1,600 online retailers. "Jeff has the CEO desk," said Auerhahn. "This was actually Wikipedia's old office," said Nobbs. The complete tour of the Extrabux world headquarters, as Nobbs and Auerhahn fondly call it, is short. The conference room is connected to web development, which is connected to the break room. Although their workspace is small, big things are happening there.

The baby boy was immediately brought for medical attention, with authorities not knowing of how he'd gotten there or who his mother was. There is possibility the mother may have taken pains to hide her pregnancy. Some police have ideas on who the mother of the baby boy might be. And the doctors are trying to help the baby because he might have hypothermia.

A great scientist from Northern Arizona University made an extraordinary discovery, that prairie dogs have a language of their own. Their squeaky chirps can mean hawk, coyote, or human. Prairie dogs are rodents that are native to North America from the west coast all the way to Mississippi. They live in colonies or large groups all underground. When a prairie dog discovers a predator or enemy nearby the prairie dog will use its language of chirps and chees to alert others to the danger.

People wonder why San Diego St. isn’t in the top 5 or rival BYU. The reason is because most experts think that the MW is a weak conference, but the reality is, that it has two powerhouse teams. They only have 3 losses if you combine their losses and San Diego St. only loss comes from BYU, at BYU. Just because experts favorite the East Coast teams but I think the west will prove them wrong in the big dance.

The tin shack looks like any other in a patch of small plots on the dusty outskirts of Nairobi. It's the haunting sound that grabs you, the awful moaning and cries coming from within. It's Thomas Matoke's home. But it's more like a cell. Matoke, 33, is tied up to a steel bed frame with a piece of blue rope. He's surrounded by pools of his urine, his mattress soiled and ripped to shreds. His moans are interrupted when he chews his hand or the bed frame. He can't speak to tell his mother what he wants or feels. He's alone in his world of screams and agony. He's been like this for 30 years. Matoke got ill when he was a toddler and lost much of his high-level functioning. So his mother ties him up to prevent him from running away or hurting himself.
