Today I read about, At least 200 homes in the colony of San Isidro and La Providencia, in the Mexican state of Mexico, remained flooded Sunday because a crack in an area sewage canal caused water to overflow into the city. The crack was caused by heavy rains overnight, newspaper El Milienio reported. The first calls about the flooding came about 2 a.m. Sunday, according to the local fire department. Today I read about 200 homes in the colony of San Isidro and La Providencia, in the Mexican state of Mexico, remained flooded Sunday because a crack in an area sewage canal caused water to overflow into the city, authorities said. There were no fatalities reported among the roughly 500 residents in the affected area, but three minors were reported injured, according to the local fire department. One youth was slightly injured when he tried to flee his house, while another two minors were admitted to the hospital with symptoms of hypothermia. The crack in the wall of the Canal de la Compania is about 30 meters long, staffers at the National Water Commission (Conagua) told state-run news agency Notimex. The crack, located at the 27.5 kilometer marker of Puebla Highway, is allowing the output of about 6,000 cubic meters per second of raw sewage, Notimex said.

Today I wrote about San Isidro that like 200 homes have been flooded in Mexico. It started because a crack in an area sewage, had caused water to over flow in the area. In the video the houses were under your knees, out side police were riding boats. Toilet paper was every were it smelled nasty. People were trying to take care and help each other out. It was caused by heavy rain over the nights. The first caller called the fire station at 2 o’clock am
Police and other traffic authorities had said that the high way is going to be closed till sometime Monday.

The padres are 1 game under .500 but I think they will win their next one and will be over the .500 mark the rest of the year. They are 5 games back of the Colorado Rockies That are 4 games ahead of the World series Champions San Francisco Giants. If you do the basic math that means the Giants are 1 game ahead of the padres with padres streak is 1 win and the Giants with 1 lose. The padres are a good team with a great manager Bud Black, They should make the playoffs this year.
monday- Today I read about A speeding driver traveling through Croatan National Forest in eastern North Carolina Sunday evening lost control of her SUV which overturned killing herself, another adult passenger and three children. The accident occurred shortly before 6:00 p.m., according to North Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper R.A. Woods. Police identified the driver as Maria Gonzales, 24, and the passengers as Abdil Salis, 24; Alexander Gomez, 6; Adyelis Salgonzalez, 2; and four-month-old Abdil Salis, Jr.The state trooper said the two youngest victims were found in their child restraints. Gonzales was driving a 1996 Chevy Blazer on a gravel road in the Craven County part of the national forest when she lost control of the vehicle. The SUV, ran off the road and overturned in a canal. Woods said "the driver was driving too fast and lost control." "We've had fatal accidents on this stretch of the road before, but this is the first time I've run across a family killed at one time," said Woods. The adults traveling in the vehicle were boyfriend and girlfriend.
4-18-11 Today I read about Fires burn across Texas with no end in sight. I read that Dozens of large fires burned out of control Monday in Texas. In what officials described as unprecedented conditions. That show no signs of abating soon. In all, the Forest Service has been asked to help battle fires covering some 700,000 acres. Thirty-one fires were being fought in East Texas. Another 11 fires in West Texas, officials said.

Today I read about The death toll from Japan's earthquake and tsunami rose to nearly 14,000 on Monday as efforts continued to stabilize a crippled nuclear reactor plant.Another 14,030 people are missing, according to Japan's National Police Agency. Police and soldiers still are combing the ruins of coastal villages in search of more bodies. In today’s reading I read about, Authorities are awaiting test results from bones found in the water near Long Island, New York, as they investigate possible serial killings."Bones were found in the water off of Oak Beach, and the physician's assistant will make a determination on whether or not they're human," Miros Kroupa, spokeswoman for the Suffolk County Police Department, said Sunday. Four bodies were found on Oak Beach in December, prompting federal agents to join the search. An FBI Black Hawk helicopter is expected to join the expanding investigation this week.
Today I read about how another teenager survived a plunge from the Golden Gate Bridge. She’s a 16-year-old girl, and on Sunday she survived a plunge from the Golden Gate Bridge over San Francisco Bay. They say she either jumped or fell from midspan of the bridge, about a 220-foot fall to the water below. Recently a similar story occurred on on March 10, when a 17-year-old boy jumped from the bridge during a school field trip, telling rescuers he did it for fun. According to the report the boy broke his tail bone and tore a lung. More than 1,300 people have been killed jumping off the Golden Gate since it opened in the 1930s. Last year, there were 31 suicides from the bridge.
This morning I read about how a 23-year-old exchange student, attacked in her Toronto apartment while a friend in China watched via computer webcam, was found dead there hours later, police say. Toronto Police on Monday identified the student as Qian (Necole) Liu of Beijing. She was talking early Friday morning to a male friend from home when a man allegedly knocked on her door, asking to use her phone, police said in a news release. The friend in China then started a desperate bid to find out what happened, CNN-affiliate CTV reported. Police are unsure whether Liu, an exchange student at York University, knew the man. The attacker was described as white, age 20 to 30, 6 feet tall, weighing 175 to 200 pounds, with a muscular build and medium-length brown hair, and wearing a blue crew-neck T-shirt. This is not the first time a crime has been captured by webcam. In the most notorious incident, Meleanie Hain of Lebanon, Pennsylvania was shot dead in 2009 while talking to a friend via webcam. The friend was looking away when he heard a shot and a scream, police said. Upon looking back at the screen, the friend saw Hain's husband firing a handgun at where his wife had been, they said. Police later found both Hain and her husband dead in their home.
Today I read about A Campo man who pleaded guilty to smothering his 4-month-old daughter to death because she was fussing and he couldn't sleep is expected to be sentenced Wednesday to 15 years to life in prison. Luis Alberto Duran, 22, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the June 25, 2010 death of Imalla Duran. Law enforcement witnesses testified last August that they went to the defendant's mother-in-law's home on Campo Truck Trail and found the baby lying on her back on the living room floor, near a pile of blankets. The infant could not be revived.
Today I read about California shoppers will no doubt move to bringing their own bags with them when they shop, in the wake of a bill passed by the California Assembly to ban pharmacies and grocery, liquor and convenience stores from giving out plastic bags. Further, such stores must then charge for paper bags that they use for goods customers buy. The goal, according to the sponsors of the bill, is to make a dent in the sheer volume of used plastic bags that blow through the air and otherwise litter the streets, land, waterways, and seafronts of the nation's most populous state. This could be compared and contrast with mexico city that has tens of millions of residents, 4 million cars, and very few bike paths, but that hasn't stopped city officials from introducing a bike-sharing program. The red aluminum bikes Mexico City is using come from France and are designed for commuters, with three speeds, cargo racks, chain guards, fenders, and lights on the front and rear of the frame. The Mexico City initiative is one of a large handful of such programs in the Western Hemisphere (with Montreal being a successful North American example). European countries are definitely taking the lead in this area, with France sporting a program with 20,000 bikes. Also on the bike-sharing bandwagon are Barcelona, Copenhagen, London, Milan, and Stockholm.

Being attacked in the courthouse was the last thing Catherine Scott-Gonzalez expected when she showed up for the final hearing in her divorce case. "I just can't believe that it happened -- there are just no words for it," Scott-Gonzalez said Tuesday, as she continued to recover from a broken nose and a fractured jaw after being beaten by her estranged husband in a judge's chambers. "The incident was disturbing and shocking," Broward County Circuit Court Judge Ronald Rothschild recalled Tuesday, adding, "In addition to the violence, the fact is that it happened in a court proceeding.“ The proceeding that took place Friday in Judge Rothschild's chambers was the last hearing in the divorce of Scott-Gonzalez and her husband of about five years, Paul Gonzalez. Thirty-five minutes into the hearing, when the issue of child support was brought up Gonzalez -- acting as his own attorney -- decided to leave the room, according to Michael Dunleavy, the attorney for Scott-Gonzalez. The couple, both former Marines, are the parents of two young children.

In today's reading, A new terrorism warning system will provide the public with information on specific threats, replacing the color-coded alerts put in place after the September 11, 2001, attacks, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said Wednesday. In announcing the new system at New York City's Grand Central Terminal, commonly known as Grand Central Station, Napolitano said a main goal was to provide better understanding of the nature of the specific threat, what people should do in reaction to it and how they could help security officials in responding.
4-20-11 Today I read two events I think this events are kind of related because. In the event I read named Deep South and Northeast threatened by severe weather. Was about severe thunderstorms continued Wednesday. To hang over portions of the Deep South and into the Northeast. After another round of violent weather swept through the country the day before. So far there have been no reports of injuries or deaths from the latest round of storms, according to emergency management officials and law enforcement. Violent storms and tornadoes last week killed at least 46 people in the southeastern United States. I also read about the earthquake that happened in Japan. I compared this two events because in this two events nature disaster have occur and a lot of people have been injure in both of this events.

Today I read about Japan to enforce nuclear evacuation zone. Japan will begin enforcing an often-flouted evacuation order and keep people out of the 20-km zone around the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, a top official announced Wednesday. About 78,000 people have homes in the evacuation zone. Animal rescue groups have gone in to get pets for owners who didn’t expect to be gone for more than a month. All that needs to stop "to guarantee the health and safety of the people," Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano told reporters Wednesday. Edano, the government's point man for the crisis, said Tokyo will work with local officials to make plans for closing the zone soon.

Today I’m comparing and contrasting the tornado and the earthquake. They are both the same and alike in many ways. They are similar in the ways that they impact many peoples lives they destroy and ruin houses and homes. Both earthquakes and tornados are both from mother nature. On the other hand tornados can do less damage then earthquakes. Earthquakes can start tsunamis and fires wile tornados can start fires but not tsunamis.

A tornado happen in North Carolina and let me tell you about it impacted so many life's such as a Earthquake. They both leave people homeless, and cause a lot of death. They also just don’t cause damage they also cause the people peace of mind that would haunt there lives forever. The difference between them that one is caused by the floor moving. They knock houses down and cause fires and make crakes on the ground. At one put they also cause tsunamis witch even makes it more scary. A tornado is caused by hot and cold winds that are together and makes a twister that sucks up everything in its path, like a noodle going into a mouth, but the tornados throws it back out after it sucks it in. A lot of stuff gets damaged and yet we cant stop human nature from these disasters.

In Japan is were people were killed by a giant wave. Compared to a tornado in North Carolina people were scared and killed. Between both videos I saw in the internet Japan & North Carolina. Today I'm going to compare the earthquake that happened in Japan with the tornado that just recently happen in north Carolina. First off a lot of house got destroyed because the earthquake that was 8.9 magnitude casing a lot of deaths and also a tsunami that destroyed everything, it was so strong that cracks on the ground were wide open on the floor. Some similar things that the tornado did was it destroyed all the buildings and airports a lot of people died and could survive.
Today I read about the tornado that happened in North Carolina . Also the Tsunami that happened in Japan . The tsunami that followed the 8.9-magnitude earthquake wreaked havoc along a huge stretch of Japan's north-east coast, sweeping far inland and devastating a number of towns and villages. Powerful aftershocks are continuing to hit the region. US President Barack Obama has already declared a major disaster for parts of North Carolina, where dozens of tornadoes killed more than 20 people over the weekend.

today i read about,Women who post lots of photos of themselves on Facebook value appearance, need attention, study finds in which people use social networking websites such as Facebook confirms what many of us suspected. Women who post loads of photos of themselves on their sites are conveying some strong personal characteristics, according to new research. These women are more likely to base their self-worth on appearance and use social networking to compete for attention. The study involved 311 men and women with an average age of 23. In order to better understand aspects of social networking behavior, the researchers looked at the amount of time subjects spent managing profiles, the number of photos they shared, the size of their online networks and how promiscuous they were in terms of “friending” behavior. The participants completed a questionnaire designed to measure self worth and were asked about their typical behaviors on Facebook.
There were differences between women and men. Overall, the results suggest that, compared with men, females identify more strongly with their image and appearance and use Facebook to compete for attention, said the lead author of the study, Michael A. Stefanone, an assistant professor of communications at the University of Buffalo.
The women who had the largest social networks and posted more photos of themselves were more highly vested in their appearance.
4-21-11 Today I read about trafficking against farm labor contractor. The federal government in Los Angeles is calling a human-trafficking. Lawsuit against a California-based farm labor contractor and eight farms. The largest case of alleged forced labor of farm workers in the United States. The government alleges that between 2003 and 2007, Global Horizons promised hundreds of workers lucrative jobs in the United States. Then charged the workers exorbitant recruitment fees that they were expected to work pay of. But once the men arrived, the suit says, their passports were confiscated and they were not paid for their work. Also that many of the workers were barred from living the farms and were forced to leave in dirty conditions.

Eman al-Obeidy, the woman who alleges rape and abuse by Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi's security forces, said Thursday she feels defeated and lives in fear that she will be punished gravely for her words. The legal proceedings in her rape case have not gone far, she told CNN. She has not been able to go home. Today I read about the NATO issuing a new warning to Libyan civilians to stay away from military areas , foreshadowing plans for attacks on target seen as strategically significant in stopping the government’s attacks against civilians , according to NATO military officials . NATO has signaled it may ramp up air strikes on the Moammar Gadhafi regime , which an opposition group said lost control of a key border crossing into Tunisia . Rebels , who have complained that NATO was not being aggressive enough to protect civillians , appeared to triumph in the border city of Wazen , Libya .

Friday- Libyan rebels made gains Friday on the morale front from Sen. John McCain's visit to Benghazi and on the battlefront as they gained ground in central Misrata, under a bloody siege for weeks. The rebels, locked in a deadly standoff with forces loyal to strongman Moammar Gadhafi, welcomed McCain to their de facto capital, Benghazi. McCain's tour came a day after the United States said it was deploying drones to Libya. McCain, a strong proponent of beefing up U.S. efforts to oust Gadhafi from power, said the drones would increase NATO's capability but not enough to make up a shortfall in assets needed to break a "significant degree of stalemate.”

Today I read about a drink called blast here is some info on it, Seventeen state attorneys general are urging Pabst Brewing Co. to stop marketing to young drinkers and halt production of a new malt beverage promoted by rapper Snoop Dogg. In a letter sent to the Pabst Brewing Co., Maryland Attorney General Douglas F. Gansler says "Blast" by Colt 45 is a 'binge-in-a-can" that targets youth. Gansler was joined by attorneys general from Arizona, California, Connecticut, Guam, Idaho, Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Maine, Massachusetts, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Utah, and Washington. San Francisco City Attorney Dennis Herrera also joined the petition, according to a written statement.
