Title: Spices
In today’s reading I read about Mustard. I learned that mustard first came from Mediterranean countries. Mustards name came from mustard seeds with grape juice. Mustard- “must” means grape juice and “ard” comes from to burn. Mustard is very hot. I read that there are two types of mustards seeds, brown and white. It says that brown mustard has a stronger taste. The white mustard is milder. I personally don’t like either of them ,except for the spicy brown mustard! I can only put a little bit on my hotdog. I prefer ketchup over mustard.
There are three kinds of mustard, English, French and American. Americans mostly put mustard on their sandwiches, hotdogs, and burgers.
What I didn’t know before was that mustard use to be used to ease muscle pain. If you had a sore muscle, mustard would then be wrapped in cloth around your muscle pain. I can’t imagine wrapping a piece of mustard cloth on my ankle when I sprained it. It must smell afterwards!
One thing I found most interesting is that mustard was believed to ease headaches and colds. Next time when a student complains that they have a headache I am going to tll them to go and smell a packet of mustard!!

This story i read was called The Challenge of Toddlers. This was about toddlers, and how they grow up so fast. They talk about how unusuall it is to walk at 10 months, because usally they wait till 12 to 14 months, and some are older before they take those first steps. Also when it comes to his first words or talking, he/she should say there first words by their first birthday. In this book they also talk about how fast toddlers pick up on what is going around them and start doing it. My thoughts on this section i read was, how smart is a baby when it first comes out. i wonder if they know who there parents were if she/he saw them. One most intresting fact i leraned was everything i read. But the most intresting i leraned out of everything i read is that baby should be talking by there first birthdays.

Title: 1,001 facts about the human body.
what I was reading was about human facts like some things that I didn’t know was like twelve pairs of major nerves originate in the brain and it’s stem. These cranial nerves carry motor signals to muscles in the head and neck region, or carry sensory information back to the brain from the sense organs. Other control facial expressions. Some things that I liked about the book was as people get older, their nails tend to grow more quickly.

I read about renaissance and reformation. Also in the mid1300s a bold new spirit began in the cities of Italy and then spread throughout Europe. That time was known as the renaissance. Also the renaissance means rebirth. That era also produced great achievements in the arts and sciences. That also challenged the power of the church, beginning a movement for religious change known as the reformation.

1. This book that I read today is about all the spices in the whole world. Many explorers discover spice on there journey thought the world. Arabs are the kind of people who discover spices or at least the main ones. Arabs do not just trade with Asia they also trade with the Europeans. The Europeans also trade with Asia. The Europeans learned many new ideas from the Arabs. A spice that is very known is mustard but its often used to ease aching and sore muscles. In American it is used on hot dogs, American mustard is made from powdered white seeds.
2. This book that I read I think that it is a good book. I really like it because it is about spices and that interests me. I believe I would read this story again in the future.

The book I read is When the Wind Blows. The poor doe was out cold and I felt so bad for her. Frannie the sap that’s what my sister, Carole calls me. That was her husband David's favorite nick name to call her too. A little less than a year and a half ago, David was shot and killed in the physicians' parking lot at a boulder community hospital. She hasn’t recovered from her husbands death. She would feel better if they had caught him. I cut along the abdominal line with my scalpel. I exteriorized the uterus, flipping it out intact onto the does open belly.

Title : World Region East Asia
Asia is the biggest continent on earth and it is one of great geographical diversity, spanning latitudes from the Artic to near the equator. The Asian continent accounts for almost one third of the total land area in the world. East Asia refers to the eastern portion of Asia's mainland, including Japan, Indonesia and the philipines. Much of East Asia is coveredby rocky mountains and cold deserts, which means that most of the population clusters near the coast or along the regions's great rivers, the Yangtze, Hwang He, and Mekong.

Pregnancy and Birth

I read a book about pregnancy and given birth. This book talked about what is generally the best age to have a baby is probably in your twenties. Risks of a difficult pregnancy do increase when the mother is over 35 years of age. But they are reduced if the women is fit and healthy. But they are most likely to have a downs syndrome baby. Women under 18 years of age run a greater risk of having a still born or small baby. The only way they can have a good and regular healthy baby is if they go regularly visits to the obstetrician. The most interesting fact that caught my attention was that never diet in pregnancy because you may deprive your body of vital nutrients.

I think that known about pregnancy and the things to do when you are pregnant are very important. Its very important because if you are in a situation of being pregnant or you know someone who is pregnant it really helps you or them. I think having a baby is the cutest thing ever.
